KSA Industrial Automation Company provides automation for water and wastewater in Saudi Arabia: PLC and RTU programming, SCADA, telemetry and commissioning for pump stations, treatment works and distribution networks. We programme on Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider and ABB platforms, and a typical SCADA project takes 4–12 weeks. The design aim is a site that keeps running when a link, a pump or the power fails.
What you receive: a written proposal for each station and the control centre, with platforms, duration and price, ready within one working day of getting your I/O list or P&IDs. Request a quotation

Ranges are to project specification. Our pages on pump station automation and water treatment plant SCADA cover the two most common packages.
What is the SCADA system in a water treatment plant?
It is the supervisory layer that collects readings from the plant PLCs, shows them to operators, stores them and raises alarms. In a treatment works it covers intake, dosing, filtration or membrane trains, backwash, storage and transfer pumps. Operators see level, flow, turbidity, pH and chlorine residual on one screen set, and the historian keeps the trends that your compliance reports draw on. We prioritise alarms so the night operator meets a few real alarms, not hundreds.
What is an RTU used for in a pump station network?
An RTU reads field signals at an unmanned site and sends them to the control centre over a communication link. It suits small sites with a handful of signals, because it draws little power and time-stamps events during a link loss, then sends them when the link returns. Larger stations get a PLC for local logic with a telemetry gateway on top. We choose by I/O count and link type, as set out on our RTU and telemetry page.
How is a wastewater pumping station controlled?
Level in the wet well sets how many pumps run. The PLC rotates duty and standby by run hours, protects against dry run and overload, and raises a high-level alarm before overflow. After a power return it starts pumps in a staggered sequence, so the whole station does not inrush at once. Local control stays live when SCADA is offline, because the logic sits in the PLC, not on the server.
How does a water automation project run?
- You send an I/O list, P&IDs or a functional description.
- We review existing code, network and communication path, then issue the proposal.
- We write a functional design: I/O list, alarm list, network drawing.
- We programme PLC, HMI and SCADA from tested function blocks.
- Your engineer witnesses the functional FAT against a signed procedure.
- We run loop checks, pump rotation and communication tests on site during commissioning.
- You receive code backups, as-built drawings and operator training.
- Support is remote the same day, and on site within one working day in the Eastern Province.
Where we work and who we have worked for
Water assets sit in industrial cities, camps, wellfields and along transmission lines. Our base is Al Shati District, Dammam, and we have worked on projects for Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. We are available for projects across Saudi Arabia, including Jubail, Yanbu, Riyadh and Jeddah. We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification. Industrial clients also hand us their effluent treatment plants and cooling-water loops, which use the same control building blocks.
Water and wastewater automation questions
Who provides automation for water and wastewater in Saudi Arabia?
KSA Industrial Automation Company provides automation for water and wastewater from Dammam, covering PLC and RTU programming, SCADA, telemetry and site commissioning. The company has operated since 1995 and is approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission.
What affects the cost of water and wastewater automation?
Cost follows the number of I/O points, the number of sites, the PLC and SCADA platform, the communication path to remote stations, the reporting you need and the scope of FAT and SAT. A clean I/O list and P&IDs let us price against real quantities.
How long does a water plant automation project take?
Duration depends on I/O count, the number of stations, drawing approval and your shutdown window. PLC programming typically takes 2–6 weeks per system and SCADA 4–12 weeks. Site commissioning is planned around process availability, so the plant stays in service.
Can you add telemetry to an old pump station without replacing the PLC?
Yes. We can read the existing PLC over Modbus or its native protocol and add a telemetry gateway or RTU beside it. The station keeps its control logic, and the control centre gains remote readings, alarms and run-hour data.
Can you work with our utility's existing SCADA?
Yes. We extend your current SCADA with new tags, screens and alarms, or connect new stations over DNP3, Modbus or OPC UA, and we back up the project before any change so it can be restored.
What should we send for a quotation?
Send your I/O list, P&IDs or a functional description of the process. A list of stations with their communication options and any existing PLC models helps us size the work and the telemetry link.
