How do Elcontrol analysers connect over Modbus to SCADA?
Each NanoVIP carries a Modbus address and sits on an RS485 daisy-chain. A gateway or a PLC serial port polls the chain, and the SCADA reads the values from that master over Modbus TCP or OPC UA. The common faults are duplicate addresses, wrong parity settings, missing termination and mismatched CT ratios, so we check all four during commissioning.
We document the register map in a form your own technicians can read, with scaling and units for every value. You can then add a meter later without calling us. Where the plant has a historian, we write the energy values to it with the same tag names used on the screens.
Is Elcontrol Energy Studio free?
Licence terms are set by Elcontrol, and they vary by edition and number of meters, so we confirm what your site holds before design starts. In either case our scope is the same: installation, configuration of meter groups and tariffs, report layouts and user access.
